r&d - night prowler military vehicle
The Nightprowler ASAR and AMEV LTATV is a revolutionary 3-person lightweight vehicle (less than 1800 pounds operational vehicle weight) designed to provide significant improvement to military ground operations.
The Night Prowler is being developed by RP Advanced Mobile Systems, one of the NW UAV companies.
Key performance deliverables include:
- Nightprowler is fitted with a 951 cc high-output U.S. manufactured HEMI H2 gasoline power plant not previously installed in any similar UTV category vehicle. (NOTE: the Nightprowler power plant is also being developed for potential heavy fuels usage)
- Nightprowler will have the shortest turning radius of any 4-wheel-drive Utility All-Terrain Vehicle (UTV) as well as 8-inches of chassis ground clearance complemented by a driver selectable highly-tuned independent suspension system with innovative off-road chassis enhancement components.
- Nightprowler is equipped with a rear occupant station designed to facilitate a pivoting weapons station or MEDEVAC compartment.
- The variant equipped with the gunner station will comprise an elevated gun ring affording 360 degrees of traversal with an added articulating arm/weapons mount at the forward right hand occupant station for added force response capability.
- The rear gunner/MEDEVAC station is intended to incorporate strategically placed bullet/fragment resistive body panels that meet or exceed level IV UL 752 Specifications.
