PRODUCTION ASSEMBLER

re you mechanically inclined? Do you have a good understanding of small engines? If so, NWUAV would like to talk to you about an opening at our shop for a Production Assembler. NWUAV is a small company in McMinnville Oregon that builds small, specialized engines for specific applications. Qualified applicants will be experienced working with various machine systems and have knowledge assembling, disassembling, installing and removing machine components. Computer skills and an understanding of Microsoft Office are required. Our Production Assemblers must be able to understand and utilize all written materials available and be capable of precise documentation of work performed. Teamwork and customer service are important to producing a quality product in this fast paced, exciting environment.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and close work orders in a timely manner ensuring quality control within the scope of all shop requirements.
  • Have knowledge of all resource materials, including build manuals, parts books and drawings, and use these resources effectively to address any and all technical issues.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with the printed procedures.
  • Adhere to AS9100 standards and regulations as administered by Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to the current work order.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, determining root causes and documenting all corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to complete and document testing.
  • Completion of all tasks in accordance with AS9100.
  • Perform a variety of related duties in support of engine testing program.

PROPULSION TEST CELL TECHNICIAN

Northwest UAV is currently seeking individuals with testing experience to fill our Propulsion Test Cell Technician opening. The work requires a strong mechanical aptitude with supreme attention to detail. Successful candidates will be tasked with the testing and tuning of small, high performance engines used to power unmanned aircraft.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure all test stand related services are performed safely, professionally and on schedule.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Monitor engine performance ensuring proper RPM, cylinder head temperature, fuel mixture, etc. are maintained.
  • Accurately document tuning and testing and complete all required logs.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, determining root causes and documenting all corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to complete and document testing.
  • Completion of all tasks in accordance with AS9100.
  • Perform a variety of related duties in support of engine testing program.

Requirements Include:

TECHNICIAL WRITER

Are you passionate about taking complicated processes and translating them into written materials that are easy to read and understand? Do you excel in the art of compiling copious amounts of technical information and unscrambling the data into manageable chunks? Northwest UAV is searching for a Technical writer who will research, design, develop, publish, and maintain documentation company-wide. The writer will perform analysis and gather internal and external customer feedback to determine the target audience and their needs, work closely with experienced and highly-talented production team members, write to the appropriate standards and guidelines, and coordinate technical reviews and deliverables for effectiveness and clarity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
  • Confer with internal and external customers, vendors, and management to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for diverse publication distribution.
  • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.
  • Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
  • Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
  • Interview personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.

WIRING ASSEMBLER

Northwest UAV, located in McMinnville Oregon, builds small, specialized engines for specific unmanned systems applications. Due to an increase in workload we are currently looking for a Wiring Assembler to join our Electrical Assembly team.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure all wiring related services are performed safely, professionally, and on time.
  • The ability to read and interpret wiring drawings and technical instructions.
  • Ability to accurately document procedures.
  • Preferred Certifications & Training: IPC.WHMA-620-A .
  • To start and complete sub-assembly work to ensure schedule timelines are met.
  • To assist other Production Technicians as required with the timely completion of sub-assembly.

Requirements Include:

  • Background in wire harness assembly.
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

CMM PROGRAMMER/QUALITY INSPECTOR

NWUAV is currently accepting applications for a CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector. Qualified applicants should have experience in the field of CMM Programming (preferably on Zeiss equipment) and inspection, familiarization with manufacturing and Quality processes. Candidate will be expert in GD&T, capable of reading manufacturing prints/drawings with the ability to provide technical guidance to manufacturing operations in support of product quality. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and good communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with ISO/AS9100 training.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform measurement inspections of parts with metrology equipment.
  • Solves complex programming challenges with Coordinated Machine Measurement (CMM).
  • Run and program CMM inspection equipment.
  • Read and interpret drawings and blueprints with GD&T dimensioning and specifications.
  • Assist Engineers and Inspectors in developing or modifying inspection procedures as needed.
  • Perform all tasks and procedures in a regulated environment with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates effectively amongst a cross-functional team of Inspectors, Operators, Engineers and Technicians.
  • Multi-tasks effectively and performs other essential tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Associates degree required, or equivalent experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education upon passing competency testing.

Northwest UAV is currently seeking individuals with delivery experience to fill our Delivery Driver/Inventory Clerk opening.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare parts for safe shipment and assist in shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Maintain the security of NWUAV parts, components and products during transportation
  • Ensure that items are delivered on time and to the correct location.

QUALITY INSPECTOR

NWUAV is currently accepting applications for a quality inspector. Qualified applicants should have a minimum of 3 years in the field of inspection, the ability to read blueprints, and an understanding of basic inspection tools. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and good communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with ISO/AS9100 training. Experience with GD&T, CMM, SolidWorks, First Article Inspection and ASQ inspector certification is preferred.

  • Inspect all work orders for accuracy ensuring quality control within the scope of all shop requirements.
  • Have knowledge of all resource materials, including build manuals, parts books and drawings, and use these resources effectively to address technical issues.
