JUNIOR BUYER

Are you a critical thinker with the ability to multi-task at a rate faster than the speed of light? Do you know your way around manufacturing ERP systems, the internet, production processes and possess the uncanny skill to remember numbers and things you never imagined you’d need to know? If so, Northwest UAV might be just the place for you. We are a small company in McMinnville, Oregon that manufactures specialized engines for unmanned systems applications and we are looking to add an additional Buyer to our Supply Chain Group.

Daily Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Prepare purchase orders in accordance with AS 9100 guidelines and requirements.
  • Coordinate and control the purchasing of company inventory and materials.
  • Authorize payments for purchased materials.
  • Generate, track and close all purchase orders in a timely and correct manner.
  • Expedite existing purchase orders to ensure production is not affected by outages.
  • Support lean manufacturing activities.
  • Monitor revision changes, assure vendors have current drawings and monitor purchase of
    conforming materials.
  • Ensure inventory levels are in accordance with company policies and department needs.
  • Obtain quantity bids for production items from approved vendor base.
  • Load and maintain vendor quotes within NWUAV’s ERP bid matrix.
  • Maintain records of all purchasing activity to present to management or auditors upon request.
  • Analyze supplier performance and address accordingly with quality team.
  • Perform on-site annual supplier audits with NWUAV’s tier-one vendors.

Qualifications of major importance:

  • PC proficient, knowledge of all MS Office applications, (Enterprise Resource Planning software
    is a plus).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and function effectively in a team environment.
  • Elevated level of analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of materials management (supply chain, distribution, warehousing and purchasing).
  • Ability to read technical drawings/ prints preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate business and contract negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to travel (including Internationally) up to 10% of the time.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in purchasing or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with custom, highly engineered components and assemblies is a plus.

WIRING ASSEMBLER

NWUAV builds small, specialized engines for specific applications. Due to an increase in workload we are currently looking for a Wiring Assembler to join our Electrical Assembly team. If you have experience working with small electrical components, and knowledge of assembly requirements please reply with your resume.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all wiring related services are performed safely, professionally, and on time.
  • The ability to read and interpret wiring drawings and technical instructions.
  • Ability to accurately document procedures.
  • Preferred Certifications and Training: IPC.WHMA-620-A.
  • Ability to start and complete subassembly work to ensure scheduled timelines are met.
  • To assist other Production Technicians as required with the timely completion of subassemblies.

Requirements Include:

  • Background in wire harness assembly.
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Experience with wiring, connecting, soldering, and assembly of circuit boards and other electronic equipment.
  • Superior problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately fill out log sheets and record testing information.
  • Must be able to crouch, bend, reach, lift 30 lbs, and work with hand tools.
  • Commitment to working safely.
  • Adherence to AS9100 standards.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check
